Upcycle to build homes!
Habitat for Humanity Dutchess ReStore will again host our very own version of Flea Market Flip – The ReStore ReDo. This event features local community individuals, from novice to experienced Do It Yourself-ers (DIY-ers), “re-doing” or “flipping” an item selected from the ReStore or their own piece. All ReDo projects will ultimately be sold and the funds raised will support the Habitat mission to build safe and financially sustainable housing in Dutchess County. Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County has built 36 homes right here in our local community. This coming year, we will build 4 more forever homes!
Registration for our 5th annual ReDo is open between August 1st through August 31st. There is a $15 minimum donation to participate due at registration. Once registered, each “ReDo-er” can begin their project. This year, all participants will be sourcing their own piece to allow for greater creative freedom. If shopping at our ReStore for your piece, be sure to show the cashier your registration for a volunteer discount of 20% a full price item. Finished pieces are due back to the ReStore between October 12th and 18th. All pieces will be on sale in our "ReDo Market" on Saturday Oct. 26th. Contest winners will be announced that day as well. Re-Doers will be up for amazing prizes donated by local businesses. Categories include: Best from a First Time Flipper, Most Creative, Best Transformation, and Best Repurposed Piece, and Best from an Adult/Child team.
